In a nutshell: For a ration card complaint in Telangana, there are two official doors. One is the IGRMS grievance portal. The other is the toll-free number 1967. The portal says a call centre works 24x7. Keep your facts ready before you use either.

The shop closed early again. The machine did not read your thumb. Your application has been "pending" for weeks. When this happens, shouting at the dealer rarely helps. A written or recorded complaint does more. This post shows the official route and how to prepare. This site is independent and not a government website.
What Is IGRMS, the Telangana Grievance Portal?
IGRMS stands for Integrated Grievance Redressal Monitoring System. The portal header says it is for IMPDS and belongs to the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies, Government of Telangana. It is linked from the ePDS home menu as Grievance Redressal System for E2E PDS.
The page says citizens can lodge grievances related to the Public Distribution System, and that the grievance is forwarded to the concerned authorities. We cannot say how fast they act. The portal does not state a time.

What You See on the IGRMS Grievance Portal Home Page
- A top menu with Home, Contact and Reports.
- Three buttons: Lodge your grievance, View Grievance Status and Feedback Form.
- The toll-free number 1967. The text says the PDS Public Grievance Redressal Cell call centre works 24x7.
- A WhatsApp number shown on the page: 18004254614 (as shown on the portal).
- A Login box with username, password and captcha. It is for staff. Ordinary citizens do not need it.
First Step to Lodge a Grievance on IGRMS
Click Lodge your grievance. The next screen asks for your Mobile Number. Type it and press Send OTP. A code arrives on your phone. Type it in the OTP box and press Verify.

- 2 Send OTP
- 3 OTP you receive

That OTP is only for this official portal. Never tell it to anyone on a phone call or message, even if they say they are from the department. We stopped at this screen, so we cannot describe the later steps. Read each screen as it comes.
Ration Card Complaint Checklist Before You Lodge a Grievance
A vague complaint gets a vague answer. Spend ten minutes on facts first.
- The name and number of your fair price shop.
- The date, and roughly the time, of the problem.
- What exactly happened, in two or three plain sentences.
- Your ration card number.
- A photo of the receipt, if the shop gave one.
- Names of anyone who saw it, if they are willing.
Keep these in one note on your phone. You may be asked twice.
What to Say on the 1967 Helpline Call
You can call 1967 free of charge from your phone. Here is a simple script. Change the words to fit your case.
- "I want to register a complaint about my ration shop."
- "My name is ___ and my card number is ___."
- "The shop is ___ in ___ mandal, district ___."
- "On ___ date, this happened: ___."
- "Please give me a complaint number. I want to check the status later."
Write down the number they give, the date and the name of the person on the line. If they do not give a number, ask again. Whether the call produces a number is something we have not tested, so ask politely.
Ration Card Problem: What to Try First and When to Complain
| Problem | Try first | Then complain |
|---|---|---|
| Shop refuses grain at another shop | Read the shop refusal guide | Call 1967 or lodge on IGRMS with the shop name |
| Fingerprint or eKYC fails | Read the fingerprint failure guide | If the shop will not help, give date and shop details to 1967 |
| Application stuck on pending | Note the Pending At wording; see pending applications | Quote the receipt number in a grievance |
| Application rejected | Read the reason in rejected card reasons | Complain only if the reason looks wrong, with proof |
| Card or member not in records | See missing database guide | Raise it with the helpline and note the reply |
What Happens After You Lodge a Ration Card Complaint
The home page has a View Grievance Status button. Use it with the number you got. We have not tried it, so we cannot describe what it shows. There is also a Feedback Form button, which you may use once the matter is closed.
Be patient but firm. Keep the shop name and date in every message. If your complaint is about a shop that said "no stock", write the date and what the dealer said. Our portal tour shows other places on the main site where you can check your own card details first.
Safety Tips When Filing a Ration Card Complaint
- Type your mobile number and OTP only on the official address.
- Do not pay anyone to "fix" a complaint.
- Do not share the OTP with a helper, even a friendly one.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I file a ration card complaint in Telangana?
Use the official IGRMS portal and click Lodge your grievance, or call the toll-free number 1967. Keep your shop name, date, card number and a short description ready before you start.
What is the ration card helpline number in Telangana?

Do I need a login to lodge a grievance on IGRMS?
No. The Login box on the home page is for staff. Citizens start with Lodge your grievance, which asks for a mobile number, then an OTP sent to that number.
